Creating own collision Detection

Hi, i need some help with collisions.

if i create a collisionQuadTree of my own and detects the collisions there becuase we have a gridded game, and now we want the collisions to be gridwise and sorted
on a specific axis. I have it like this

if( Object1.collides(Object2))
// do collision response.

My collision response i would like to be is that i send the two collisionSkins to the jiglibX collisionSystem and make this system solve the actual collision but i want my system to be able
to detect the collisions and tell the other which bodies that are colliding.

I havent found a function yet that gives me the functionality that i want if anybody got an idea i would be very pleased to hear about it.
