3D max size?

Feb 1, 2009 at 3:50 PM
Hi
I use 3dmax to create a 1*1*1 cube, export it as .fbx format.

            BoxObject boxObj06 = new BoxObject(this, myboxModel, new Vector3(1, 1, 1), Matrix.Identity, new Vec3(0,0,0));
             this.Components.Add(boxObj06);

Why the visual box is much bigger than debugging box?

does anyone know?

thanks

To help you out, in Max, will you please go to Customize -> Units Setup and let us know what your scene units are set to?

I usually use Maya.  1 XNA Unit is equivalent to 1 millimeter in Maya, so I set my grid up to be in mm instead of meters.

Most likely you can set your units in Max to 1 meter or 1 millimeter instead of "Generic Units" and that will fix you right up.
I'll check it out later tonight and see what I can figure out.

Also, keep in mind that Max is Z up and Maya/XNA are Y up, which isn't related to this, but can lead to confusion for other things.
