What Are We Going to do About Character Physics?

Feb 26, 2009 at 7:07 AM
Hi all!

Several of Ox's users are expecting some sort of character physics out of the box. I think this is a reasonable expectation and I wish to accomodate it. From what I understand, BEPU physics has some out of the box character physics.

So...
1) Is anyone already implementing such a thing for JigLibX?
2) If not, could someone help me get started on such a task?

It will take a while for me to get the task done since I'm moving across the country in a week, but its better to have someone working on it than noone.

Anyways, please let me know what we are doing / are going to do :)

We will *not* implement out of the box character physics!

As far as i know bepu has a character physics sample. I wrote an incomplete character controller for JigLibX in while ago, it worked very well... We could publish a Character-Physics-Controller...

Ya, let's publish it as a controller! How might I get started working on this?

Sorry, I should have made my request more clear. Please send me the controller code you mentioned so I can use it as a starting point. Otherwise I won't know where to start without spending some time I won't have for a while :)
